Book Blogger Appreciation Week - Day Three

Posted by Gina Schwartz on September 15, 2010 at 11:50 AM

The theme for day three is Unexpected Treasures

Under this theme, Book Bloggers are going to blog about book or genre you tried due to the influence of another blogger and what made you cave in and try it.

I am very new to blogging, I have only been blogging for about two months so I haven't really had the time to be all over finding new things to read.  However I have to gave credit (again) to Amanda at the Zen Leaf for reintrocuding me to the Classics. I would have studied novels like these way back in high school for literature examinations but I am finding a whole new love for them again.  I have been inspired to read Bleak House which I never read before and is all of 1,000 pages long.  It starts off so slowly that you would only continue if there was a prize at the end or if you had some extreme motivation,  I also read two novels by Thomas Hardy - "Tess of the D'Urbervilles" and "Far from the Madding Crowd" and loved them (especially the latter) which is a great story.

So again hats off to Amanda.

From some of the other blogs that I have been following, I am slowly getting lured into the fantasy genre which so far I have avoided almost entirely but we will see where that goes
