Armchair BEA Day 2

Today’s suggested posting topic is “Best of 2011!” We'd love to have you share some of your favorite books so far this year, and/or the the books being promoted at BEA that you hope will end up among your favorites for the year!

My plan for this year 2011 was to read 100 books.  So far as of today I have completed 39 books so already you can see that I am falling short.  My reading this year though has been very different from my standard reading in the year's past.  It is delightfully more varied.  I have read everything this year from historical romance to fantasy to crime dramas - some good, some just too way out for me but I am loving all of the variety.

Alot of the variety must be attributed this year to my willingness to read books from new authors via the authors directly and the Smashwords site.

After all of that preamble however here is my best for the year so far:

The Girl who played with Fire - Steig Larsson.  I know I am a bit late in joining in on this bandwagon but I loved this novel.  Better late than never I say.

The Girl in the Lighthouse - Roxane Tepler Sanford.  The author sent this to me directly over the Christmas holidays.  I loved it.  I understand that there is a sequel nand I cant wait.

Sentence of Marriage - Shayne Peterson.  This is a Smashwords book that I just stumbled upon.  I loved it and I have already bought the sequel.

What do you love this year?

Armchair BEA Day 1

Hi, I am Gina and I am really excited as this is my first Armchair BEA.  I started this site a little less than a year ago when I got seriously into book reviews.  I had thought that by now it might have developed into something a little more substantial but I really haven't had the time.  I am a full time working mother of three children who are 9,6 and 1 year old.  All of you who are in the same boat know that this means that I have no life of my own and no time.  I live in Trinidad which is an island in the Caribbean Sea just off the coast of Venezuela.  There are 1.3 Million people on this island and we have great weather all year round.

How do you Armchair?

I usually draft posts during breaks at my desk at work and then I would post sometimes later in the day.  I am really looking forward to this week to check out all of the other book bloggers and find some more blogs to look at everyday.

Bookscount quote of the week!
